STD?: if you are celibate, I would doubt an STD like Chlamydia. I suggest a repeat vaginal culture and antibiotic sensitivity studies. Please consult with your GYN for further evaluation.

PID treatment: Not all PID is due to chlamydia, gonorrhea, or other STD. Regardless of the cause, neither doxycycline nor azithromycin is adequate treatment. PID needs antibiotics that cover a wide range of bacteria, such as the combination of doxycycline and metronidazole, plus an injection of cefoxitin. Severe cases require hospitalization and a few days of IV antibiotics before oral Rx.
