Too many acronyms : Whenever a test is done somebody has to say what is positive or negative in a result about it. These are all summed up in the sensitivity and specificity of the particular test. If I measure your BP and tell you I measured 139/89 and said was fine because high BP was defined as higher than 140/90 you would probably start doubting my judgment.
