Doubt herpes or STD: It's impossible to guess about the cause of this, but I agree this doesn't sound like herpes or any other STD. The large majority of genital skin problems aren't STDs. The doctor or clinic treating your balanitis is by far in the best position to figure this out and give reliable advice. Good luck with it.

Balanitis: Skin inflammation can create peeling, but the clotrimazole may not be curing the balanitis. To treat candida, I recommend topical nystatin ointment.
