How to i know if it's acid reflux or low stomach acid when i sometimes get cold sore feeling from throat to rectum after passing stool or standing ?

Not sure it's either: cannot say in your particular case, but generally, reflux is too much acid and taking an ANT-acid changes symptoms. Won't have any effect on rectal symptms associated with passing stool. This is a characteristic symptom of ibs. http://www.nerdpocalypse.net/irritable%20bowel.html
