Could be: If you had an affair outside of your relationship, you should be tested for STDs. There is no way to know what is causing your girlfriend's vaginal burning and urinary frequency without doing an exam and testing on her but if you have chlamydia there is a good chance that you have given it to her and you both need treatment. Honesty is the best and safest course even if it is the most difficult.

Possibly : The major sign of a UTI is pain on urination and frequency of urination. She probably has a UTI. What the organism is, God only knows. You should both be treated at the same time or else you can transmit it back and forth to each other, so called ping ponging.

Time to talk: This is likely a STD, and the consequence of not telling her are far more important than your embarrassment or her anger. Chlamydia (likely) or gonorrhea (could be) can both attack the sensitive structures in her body and render her sterile.
