A member asked:

I had a colonoscopy 4 days ago and l'm getting pain inside my rectum and a bit of mucus leaking. previously had a perirectal abcess where the pain is.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possible recurrence: Colonoscopy requires cleaning of bowel with a form of laxative followed by distention of bowel by forcing gas up the rectum. If there was a previous abscess the new signs may represent recurrence of the abscess and this followed by passage of residual irrigant used to clean bowel.
