2 separate tests: Checking for gonorrhea & chlamydia requires 2 different tests for which specimens are obtained at same time. You'll need to ask your doc about chlamydia (maybe result is pending?). In future, wrap it up before engaging in sex, whether partner is male or female. If latter, still wrap it up even if she's on some form of birth control, which only lowers risk for pregnancy but not sexually transmitted

STD tests: There are multiple STD 's and corresponding tests for each. Chlamydia and GC are often tested together, so ask if that was the case. Other common tests may require blood tests, such as HIV, syphilis, hepatitis C and herpes. Venereal warts are usually diagnosed visually.

Chlamydia test: A culture test for gonorrhea will only check for gonorrhea; it won't show chlamydia even if you have it. It's not clear why you were tested for just one STI, not all of them. Chlamydia is VERY common in NZ. There's a simple test that checks for both gonorrhoea and chlamydia on the same sample; usually urine for men. Suggest you ask your doc for this chlamydia test if you've not had one.
