I have one blister on the back of my throat that is white. it is painful to swallow and the back of my tongue is sore as well.

Could be: A virus, strep, or drainage blister. Try Acetaminophen /Ibuprofen, salt water gargles. If no better get checked in person for the above infections. Good luck

Virus, maybe herpes?: Any of several viral infections could do this, but main concern is herpes if you have been exposed, e.g. kissed someone with oral herpes or performed oral sex on someone with genital infection. See a doctor ASAP, especially if at risk for herpes. If that's it, you need tests to confirm it and to learn virus type (herpes simplex virus 1 or 2), and for treatment, which works best when started early.
