Facial herpes: The first facial herpes infection usually involves the mouth. Recurrences can be anywhere on the face. Herpes on the nose probably is a recurrence. Herpes recurrences often occur near the same area each time, so future recurrences also are likely on your nose. But not so often; most people with facial herpes have outbreaks less than once a year. Make sure diagnosis is correct, with a lab test.
