A member asked:

My partner and i have hsv. do we have to use a condom even if we are not having an outbreak?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: If you and your partner are both positive, then there is no risk of transmission between the two of you. It would be an issue if one of you were positive and the other negative. Nevertheless, you should protect yourself against unintended pregnancy by some kind of method.
