Could be: Early infections are sometimes missed in the blood. It is because we look for antibodies that have yet to form. The swab tests have gotten better but there was a high false negative rate. A serum hsv 1&2 igg may reveal your diagnosis now as opposed to when it first evolved. Good luck, maybe it'll be negative but it sure sounds like what you have.
