I : I know you feel uncomfortable, but you have to realize as doctor's we look at rectum's and other private areas of our patients on a daily basis.This is what we do. Also, you should put your health and well being over any embarrassment you may have or anticipate having. The bump could be a large hemorrhoid, wart, herpes lesion, cancer, abscess, etc. The only way to know is by having your doctor examine you. I really hope you do the right thing and see your doctor.

Time for thought: This might be something as simple as a benign skin tag, which you should just quit messing with. If not, the doc could let you know what it is and if there is some treatment necessary. If your girlfriend is tough enough for someone to do her periodic pelvic exam, you can at least let someone do this minor exam.
