I : I cannot tell you the statistical chance of you having contracted the HIV virus. In the way this was written, it suggests that someone other than the woman told you she was HIV positive. If this is the case, rather than automatically accept what might be a rumor, i suggest that you ask the woman directly. You have a right to know. Hiv is spread through fluid contact (anal, oral, vaginal sex). Won't deal with other forms of transmission here. If she does not have the HIV virus then she obviously would not transmit the virus to you. However, there is always a chance that she could transmit the virus even if she was tested as HIV negative (if done in the time frame after she was infected and before she tested positive). Since clearly, you have had sex with someone whose history you don't know, recommend that you do get an HIV test. Use of barrier protection is very important. Every time you have sex you put yourself at risk.

Its a possibility: having unprotected sex with someone who is hiv positive will put you at risk for contracting hiv
