Many don't have the level of self control needed to do it properly – pregnancy rate is about 27% in that case. When used completely correctly – pregnancy rate is about 4%. Due to presence of pre-ejaculate – pregnancy may occur even if done correctly. Pregnancy is unlikely w sex the day before period.
