Rule out infection: First thing you need to make sure is if you have an infection. Urinary tract infection can cause that symptom. If you are sexually active, you need to get evaluated for sexually transmitted disease. Structural abnormalities can potentially cause pain if flow is turbulent, but that would usually present earlier.
