Could a yeast infection affect your labia minora?

Yes: The agent of a yeast infection requires only a moist area & a bit of skin irritation to begin growing. Yeast cells are in your poo, & the close proximity to the labia make it easy for a small amount to set up an infection. Wiping front to back after a dump & keeping the area dry & clean can decrease the chances it will take hold.

Of course: There may be a variety of reasons for the yeast infection including trauma, excessive cleansing, alteration in bacterial flora due to douching or systemic antibiotics or topical allergy or estrogen status. While an isolated infection is not unusual, repeated infections warrant a full evaluation and diagnostic testing including evaluation for possible diabetes.
