Chlamydia : Chlamydia trachomatis is the sexually transmitted chlamydial infection that is also transmitted to a newborn infant through vaginal birth as well. This is why babies get medication in the eyes after birth. This is the one most people refer to when saying "chlamydia". There are a couple of other chlamydias that most lay people are unaware of. One is psittacosis, which is from bird droppings.
