Will metronidazole treat bacterial vaginosis?

Bacterial Vaginosis: Metranidazole is one of the treatments for bv. It decreases the bacterial population of gardnerella vaginalis. Can also use preparations like acid jelly to decrease the vaginal ph making the vaginal environment more hostile to gardnerella proliferation.
