A member asked:

Hi doctor.my father was suspected with prostate cancer.and the doctor ask him to having a vasectomy procedure.is it necessary?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Vasectomy: Vasectomy is a surgery where the vas dereferns are cut. This prevents sperm from traveling from the testes to the seminal vesicle and in time renders the patient sterile. I can see no reason for a vasectomy in a patient who may have prostate cancer. Speak with the urologist again, I think there has been a misunderstanding.
