Herpes testing: The tricky thing about herpes, is that many people don't know they have it. Thus, if starting in a new relationship where you might be having unprotected sex, then it's a good idea for both partners to get tested. I would add an HIV test to that too, since there's 50,000 new cases of HIV in the US per year-and often spreads 'unknowingly'. Safe sex is recommended considering other STDs like warts.

So when you get tested for herpes IGM, does this test specifically test for heroes? It just antibodies? Also, if it would be just antibodies, could there be another infection? Does symptoms, observing lesions and positive IGM make a diagnosis?
