Why do people say you shouldn't get tested for herpes what is wrong with the test?

I do not know: If concerned for std's, there is no problem getting tested. Genital herpes can have many "negative" connotations associated with it and cause a lot of stress and anxiety, so maybe some people say don't get tested?
