A member asked:

My doctor indicate i don't have a vas deferens. in the semen analysis i have no sperm. are there any test to confirm of the missing vas deferens?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

NOT DIRECTLY: In general, an absent vas deferens means that the kidney on that side also didn't develop. Obviously, a person has to have at least one vas and one kidney. It can be difficult to feel the vas on exam but that doesn't mean you don't have them. No imaging study is available to confirm the presence of the vasa. Absent sperm (azospermia) has nothing to do with absent vasa.
