HSV 2 IgG: Your question is confusing. If you had a test for HSV 2 IgG then this confirms you were exposed to HSV 2 at some point in the past and have developed an antibody to it. If you have never had an outbreak then you would be considered an asymptomatic carrier.

PCR doesn't help: everyone with HSV2 has negative PCR test most of the time. The IgG inhibition test is very poor -- it doesn't tell one way or the other whether your positive HSV2 test is true. If your HSV2 IgG value is strongly positive, assume you are infected. If only weakly positive, maybe not. The final conclusive HSV blood test is Western blot. Discuss w/ ID or STD specialist.
