Many different thing: Just because it's not a STD does not mean that it's not another type of infection like yeast. It could be non STD related bacterial infection like bacterial vaginosis. Also noninfection inflammation like from lichen planus. It could be related to a soap/detergent/lotion you are using causing an irritant/chemical dermatitis. Hopefully your doctor is working with you to provide treatment options
