Herpes: Any painful lesion such as you describe should be evaluated for herpes. See a doctor soon so that tests can be done to confirm or deny herpes as a diagnosis. Sometimes, they may just diagnose based on exam. Treatment is available and effective for this, but herpes is not curable. Bottom line: go be evaluated.
