A 24-year-old male asked:

i have an anal fissure and when i have bowel movements the blood is usually bright red. but today there was more blood and it was darker and purplish.

Worth a visit: There is a possibility that this was retained blood that began breaking down inside the colon before passage. If so, it would be darker than the fresh blood from a fissure. However, most would view purplish blood as an indication of bleeding further up the colon and worth an examination.

Ultrasound. : It is unusual for blood clots in the calf to cause severe pain. However, the test is simple. Get an ultrasound to rule this out because you already have a personal history of deep vein thrombosis.

I have a very sharp pain in my stomach or intestines in mornings. It lasts about 15 min and it ends with a small burp from that area. Please help.?

Have it checked out: Food will normally help buffer the acid that is in our stomach . At night we do not have anything to buffer the acid although we do not make as much acid while sleeping. Waking in the morning with nausea or discomfort may be a sign of gastritis or maybe even an ulcer. I would see your dr.There are other causes as well that should be evaluated.
