Increased risk: Hypertension places increased risk on your pregnancy, and should be followed as early as possible by a Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist, a high risk obstetrician who is an expert at managing higher risk pregnancies. Make sure you see your regular OB as soon as possible to evaluate you and possibly prescribe a diet modification or perhaps a medication to treat your hypertension.
