Considerations: Although it's true that staying on high potency topical steroids long term has adverse effects over time,it is the mainstay of therapy for vulvar lichen simplex.You might consider discussing the following medications with your doctor as other options: Doxepin cream,capsaicin cream, topical aspirin/dichlormethane,topical immunomodulators like tacrolimus and pimecrolimus,even local botox.Good luck!

Difficult: In addition to clobetssol keep the affected area well moisturized. Using select lotions twice a day on a regular basis can make a significant difference.
