I get lower left pelvic pain during sex, clear of std and sti- ovarian cyst on left side but doc says its harmless. what could cause pelvic pain then?

The cyst...: ...is a possible cause, but if it's less than 3 cm, it's not likely. Painful intercourse can be due to adhesions, endometriosis, muscle spasms, dermatitis, among other causes. I have found that many women think they are abnormal for having painful sex, but the reality is most women do not like when their cervix is manipulated, and you may be normal. It depends on your medical history and exam.
