Yes: Androgen excess, i'm assuming from pcos, produces symptoms such as facial/body hair and acne. Pcos is also associated with anovulation and irregular periods. Taking birth control pills will not cause you to ovulate, but will restore the normal cyclical pattern of estrogen and Progesterone to induce your uterine lining to proliferate and shed giving the woman a period.
