A member asked:

Stool concerns - my stool is about 50/50 on floating/sinking. About 50% will sink all the way to bottom of toilet - the other 50% floats. Everything else normal (color, texture). Is it OK that in the same bowel movement half sinks and half floats?

A member asked:

Stool question: Some of my stools float. Others sink. Sometimes, even in the same bowel movement Ill have a piece that sinks and a piece that floats. Normal color. No pain or blood. No weight loss. No streaking on toilet bowl. Is this just gas?

What does it mean when some pieces of stool float and don't sink quickly?
Is it a "good" thing if my feces sink in the toilet all the time? I used to think floating = well hydrated; just want to make sure I understand fully.
