A member asked:

What does it mean when some pieces of stool float and don't sink quickly?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Usually nothing: You'd get the idea from reading that floating stools mean malabsorption. If you actually have that, you'd know you're sick. Usually they float because of air bubbles -- and this just happens, or is from gum chewing or talking a lot or your particular mix of diet and bacteria or whatever.
