A member asked:

Genital and oral hpv are different types, right? can any of genital strains of hpv also live in mouth(saliva, gums)?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not so fast: The cancer associated strains that are known to cause cervical cancer can also cause throat, penile & anal cancer. The germ is specific to the sexual practices of those who carry it. Genital/oral/anal strains are specific to those types of skin, so they do not live on your shoulder/feet/etc. but they are capable of living in several sites.
