Could calcifications in breasts turn into tumors?

Other way around: Tumors usually cause calcifications. Therefore when calcifications are seen on a mammogram there is some concern about the cause which can be malignant or benign. Calcifications do not usually cause tumors.

No. But. : Calcification do NOT 'turn into tumors'. But calcs are a sign of some injury to or abnormality in the cells in the breast Most are benign. Others are from cancer. ( cancer cells are abnormal) So the calc won't turn into cancer, but it may be a sign cancer is there. A biopsy can reassure you. Anything that is changing in your breast should be followed closely and biopsied if unsure.
