Chlamydia, gonorrhea: A swab inserted into the penis is almost always tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia. Some doctors also check for nongonococcal urethritis (NGU) by examining the specimen under a microscope to detect increased numbers of white blood cells. Ask your doctor or clinic exactly what tests were done and whether treatment is necessary.
