HIV one type of STD: Hiv (human immunodeficiency virus) is one type of sexually transmitted disease (std). There are several other types of sexually transmitted diseases, a partial list includes human papillomavirus (hpv), gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, crab lice, etc... Hiv is very serious and if undiagnosed / untreated can result in death. Practice safe sex and always use a latex condom.
