I'm 16, have had a fishy odor and yellow discharge. been a year but have been checked for stds and have none. i'm embarrassed to talk to anyone help?

You need STD check! : You need an std check now! birth control pills don't prevent infections. An std check one year ago does not mean you are infection-free. You have symptoms of a vaginal infection called bacterial vaginosis which is easily diagnosed with a pap test and easily treated with antibiotics. You need to be checked for other stds too. Never have sex without condoms or other barrier protection.

Bacterial Vaginosis: Sometimes disturbances to the natural bacteria in your vagina (douching, irregular bleeding, unprotected sex, etc) can allow abnl bacteria like Gardnerella to overgrow and cause a fishy odor. It's not sexually transmitted, but can be treated w/ Metronidazole(Flagyl)/Clindamycin/Boric Acid. See your GYN for a prescription and be examined for other potential causes. Nothing urgent/dangerous though.
