A member asked:

Took a oraquick home oral swab exam 3 months after sex and it was negative. took another one a month later and it was also negative. is it accurate?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

HIV oraquick: A positive oraquick HIV test doesn't mean that an individual is infected with hiv, additional testing should be done in a medical setting to confirm. A negative test result doesn't mean that a person is not infected with hiv, particularly when exposure may have been within the previous three months. If negative at 6 months it is unlikely you have hiv. If concerned see your doctor to reconfirm. Tx.
