A member asked:

How long does your body remember a tetanus shot?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ten years: Ten years is the recommended time period for repeat immunization with tetanus toxoid. If, however, in the intervening time period you sustain a serious injury with the potential for introducing Clostridium tetani into your wounds, you should have repeat immunization if it has been five years since the last. Clinical tetanus remains a rare disease in the USA.
