depends: It depends in part on what you mean by active. We encourage our surgical patients to be as active as they can within certain activity restrictions as soon as possible after surgery. So, for example, a person can walk and do light activities as soon as they feel comfortable after surgery. However, for 8-12 weeks, they are restricted from doing any bending, heavy lifting, or twisting. Thank you.
