Recent work: If the work was done recently then he/she may have bit or chewed their cheek or trauma from the work. They have that tendency because they are not use to being numb. If the work was done a while ago and there is pain then you need to go back to the dentist and have it looked at.

See dentist : Depends if the cavity was deep and has pain with swelling may need pulpotpmy..May be infection....But if just cheek swollen internally and sometimes when numb and kids bite there cheek ..Can cause further symptoms..So the best thing would be to see the dentist.
