No and yes: Articles have suggested that tryptase levels correlate with disease activity. If the disease is not active, the levels are usually normal.

Ive been having chronic hives since April. My IGe was 154 should be under 25 and my histamine release test was over 50 and it should be under 10. My tryptase was normal- do you think I may have mast cell activation?

Curious if there's other reasons besides mastocytosis that gi biopsies would be tryptase/cd117/cd25 +? Those mast cells appeared normal & serum tryptase is only high normal at baseline. Tests done bc of frequent gi issues, anaphylaxis etc. Thanks?
