Part of treatment: Mgd is treated by a combination of things. Lid cleansing and hygiene is important. Warm soaks are helpful. The use of antibiotics like Erythromycin and tetracycline are helpful adjuncts. Have your ophthalmologist go over this with you as you have to see him to get the prescription anyway.

See an EYE MD: Meibomian gland dysfunction = seborrheic blepharitis. 1. 10 minutes of hot moist packs over closed eyes everyday, followed by: 2. Scrubbing closed eyelashes to remove the oil for 30sec. 3. Blephamide to use on tapering basis. 4. If so severe the next best rx is Doxycycline full dose 3 weeks to continue at once daily for at least 6 months. Azasite cannot be taken long periods only pulse therapy.
