Since you're not experiencing scattered areas of numbness in other body regions,This may be a variant of occipital neuralgia, not a dire condition but more of a nuisance. I doubt intracranial explanation or pathology. This may eventually resolve if no disc problem casuses it. Consulting a neurologist would give the best advice. Perhaps you'd be comfortable doing a video consultation on Healthtap.
