Yes, you have it.: As unpalatable as it is, you must tell sex partners for the rest of your life that you are hsv2+. If you have no outbreaks, great! that means no painful lesions; however, you are still infectious. You could still have an outbreak during a very physically or mentally stressful time, though, so watch out! any lesion in the boxer shorts area could be treated with Valtrex (valacyclovir) to decrease outbreak severity.

Likely yes,,: If you've tested positive for this, it's almost certain that you've got it. You may get an outbreak if you are stressed or have another illness or get exposed to things like sunlight, but no outbreaks doesn't mean you don't have it. Indeed you were likely exposed to it in some way, but there is no way to clear this from the body so your result very likely means it's in your body. Good luck.
