A member asked:

Husband was diagnosed with barrett's esophagus. was told not to eat spicy or citrus foods. he eats ketchup on everything at every meal. problem?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: The nih have identified tomatoes, tomato products and citrus fruits as major offenders. Avoid oranges, grapefruits, lemons, limes, pineapples, tomatoes, tomato sauce, salsa, chili, pizza, chocolate, garlic and onions, broccoli, coffee, alcohol. Also loose weight to a bmi of less than 28, avoid tight cloths, try eating 6 smaller meals a day. Good luck.
