Usually: When listening to your heart through a stethoscope, you can hear a couple of different noises normally. First you can hear your heart sounds. You can also hear your lung sounds when you take in a deep breath and exhale. Occasionally you can also hear the noise created by your intestines as they contract and the food and air move through. This can sound like growling.

Possible: If not following your pulse rhythm, then it is possibly your stomach. If continued, have your doctor evaluate.
