Treat amd remove.: Management is with pesticides (pyrethroids, dichlorvos and malathion), and other approaches. These include vacuuming up the insects and heat treating or wrapping mattresses. Resistance to other pesticides can occur. The carbamate insecticide propoxur is highly toxic to bed bugs, but is not yet approved in the U.S. Because it might be toxic to kids.

Wash clothing, linens, towels in hot water. Dry on highest heat - then repeat. Place clean items in a sealed bag to prevent re-infestation. Steam clean what can't go in drier.
