I have uti's on a regular basis, i have type 2 diabetes and gave had a kidney scan which shows a cyst in one and calcification and scars on the other.

UTI prophylaxis: Recurrent utis documented by culture should be eradicated and you should discuss UTI prophylaxis, or use of a small dose of an antibiotic on a daily basis to suppress any infection. The scars concern me since any urinary tract obstruction and infection can lead to loss of kidney function. It would be highly unlikely that a simple cyst would be infected. I recommend a good talk with your doctor.
