Tailored therapy: The best answer is to tailor your therapy for your specific type of hypertension. However, most clinicians and most recommendations recommend the use of the lisinopril-hctz over metoprolol.

Answer: For this degree of blood pressure lisinopril-hct would be more effective. It contains two very good drugs. Metoprolol 25 would not be strong enough. If you start lisinopril-hct, your kidney function and potassium need to be checked within a week. Good luck!
